Laura Gibson, MSN, FNP, NP-C
There is no greater accomplishment than knowing you are enhancing the quality of life for another human being. I love taking care of this population, knowing that the care I provide is holistic, through medicine, filed with love, respect, and compassion.
Laura is passionate about empowering patient populations about diet, exercise, and disease management. She is a family nurse practitioner with comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines to best manage diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, and COPD.
Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University.
Before joining InnovAge, Laura worked as a nurse practitioner at Team Health and at Sentara PACE, in Norfolk, Virginia. She says she has been privileged to hold different roles in the PACE organization while becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. She believes it allowed her to better understand the needs of this fragile population and provide superior care. Prior to joining the Sentara PACE, Laura was the Director of Nursing of a continuing care retirement community. Prior to that she worked as a registered nurse for ventilator dependent individuals.
Laura grew up in a Christian home in the mountains of West Virginia and was raised in a close-knit family. She says this way of life has carried into her adult life. She says her greatest pleasure comes from spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
