Stanley Furman, MD

Center Medical Director
Stanley Furman, MD - InnovAge Pennsylvania LIFE Center Medical Director

It is paradoxical that the idea of living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting old doesn't appeal to anyone. InnovAge allows our participants to live well for as long as they will be alive and I am blessed to be a cog in this wheel.

Dr. Stanley Furman brings with him, decades of clinical service and leadership, primarily in internal medicine and geriatric care. Prior to InnovAge he was the medical director for Universal Health Corporation Tappahannock, Virginia. Before that, he was a Professor of Geriatrics at South University. Furman has worked at several medical facilities as a Medical Director including at Glenburnie Rehabilitation, Westport Convalescent, Medi Home Health and Hospice, Hospice Central Virginia, and Health South Rehabilitation. Furman also spent some time the Chief Medical Officer for Richmond City Jail. In his earlier career, he spent several years as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Furman earned his Bachelor of Science from McGill University in Maontreal, Canada and his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean in Montserrat, West Indies. He returned to the states for his residency and fellowship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Staten Island, New York.

The Furmans have five grown children and in their spare time love to travel, read books, and spend time with family.
