Zachary Engelbert, DO
I am passionate about using my experience to provide compassionate quality healthcare for my patients and the community, to help create happier, healthier people, and a better environment.
Dr. Zachary Engelbert is primary care physician at InnovAge’s Thornton Center. He has provided medical care to a wide range of patients in need of urgent, acute, chronic, and compassionate care, as well as preventative medicine, individual health education and goal setting. His extensive experience comes from working in various medical clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities in several states, including in New Mexico, Michigan, and Iowa.
In more recent years, he’s focused his experience on Coloradoans, including as Medical Director and a physician at GEO ICE & USMS facility in Aurora, as a physician at the Freemont Correctional Facility in Canyon City, as Meical Director at Cheyenne Mountain Reentry Center in Colorado Springs, and as a physician at St. Luke Medical Clinic in Fort Collins.
Engelbert earned his Bachelors of Arts from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. He then earned his medical degree in osteopathic medicine at the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Engelbert went on to complete his internship and residency at St. Joseph Mercy Osteopathic Family Medicine Brighton, Michigan, as well as a Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship UC Davis.
Engelbert enjoys running trails, reading, hiking, camping, backpacking, weightlifting, amateur photography, praying, and learning. He has done extensive volunteer work in communities around the world, including in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Nigeria and here in the United States.
