Elaine earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minneapolis and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. She is board certified in Adult and Geriatric Health by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Her previous work experience includes caring for patients in a variety of settings including hospice, a primary care clinic for the underserved, and more than 20 years in various intensive, critical care areas. Simultaneously, she has been dedicated to educating the next generation of nurses. She taught at Averette and Ferrum Colleges and served as a preceptor and mentor to registered nursing students.
Elaine is from Florida and also lived in North Carolina and California before moving to Roanoke. She is married and has a son. Her family has three dogs and two cats. Elaine enjoys gardening and traveling in the family RV.
