Samantha Halterman, NP
I love being a Nurse Practitioner because it's not just a job, it's part of my calling. I see myself as not just someone who provides care, but someone who gives hope to my patients. My passion and commitment lie in helping each person navigate through their life and giving them the strength to live to the fullest. This is my promise and dedication to every person in PACE.
Prior to joining InnovAge, Samantha was a Nurse Care Manager for Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia, and for Virginia Premier Health Plan in Richmond. She worked there as a Population Health Nurse, and also at Sentara’s Healthcare Accountable Care Organization (SACO) in Norfolk. Samantha has held numerous other nursing, business, and leadership roles as a director and a manager, many of them in Charlottesville, including at Optima Health, Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Sentara Home Care Services, and at the University of Virginia Health System. Samantha also has experience as a travel nurse, most notably working in the Post Anesthesiology Care Unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Samantha received her Associate Degree in Nursing at Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville, Virginia. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois, her Master of Science in Health Systems Management from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and, most recently, her Master's as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Chamberlain University.
Samantha has a young daughter and a puppy named Bella. She loves to read, watch sports, spend time with her family, and attend church activities. She also says she loves nursing and finds her career a lifestyle and a passion.
